Tasting Notes: This Pinot Noir hails from Susana Balbo in the Uco Valley, Argentina. The 2017 BenMarco is co-fermented with Viognier grapes, which make up just 5% of the wine. Rich, fruity stuff from the family-run winery, and will be a winner alongside anything with roasted tomatoes. Fruity notes of pomegranate and cherry lead into delicate florals, and a suggestion of white chocolate.

About the Vineyard: Dominio del Plata is an Argentinian wine company owned by leading winemaker Susana Balbo, who is known as the Queen of Torrontés, and is credited with first developing this now-familiar grape; as with many other estates from the country it is also known for its Malbec. The winery is located in Luján de Cuyo, with vineyard plots in various subregions of the Uco Valley.

The estate was formed in 1999, by which time Susana Balbo already had more than 20 years of experience as a consultant winemaker.
