Tasting Notes:
Bouquet: Sweet cherry fruit followed by dark chocolate and a hint of spice.
Palate: Red fruit and dark chocolate with a medium body and well integrated tannins.
This richly fruited South African Malbec from ‘valley of wine and roses’ retains elegant freshness throughout. Fermentation is in stainless steel before spending 15 month in French oak, only 20% of which is new. The wine has the signature, plush tannins of the variety, and the palate leads with raspberry and redcurrant, followed by a succulent, jammy core with cocoa, coffee and a hint of spice on the finish.
We referred to this mountain “Mama Afrika” as it symbolized togetherness, passion and hope for the community to those who related to it, as this mountain has been a shining armor and inspiration for decades. The founders of Mama Afrika were inspired and thought this would best describe their new adventure and journey in the wine industry through producing quality wines to be enjoyed and loved by local and international wine consumers.
