Black History Virtual Wine Tasting Event

Richard Parsons

Richard Parsons is an eminent New Yorker who consolidated a life-long passion for wine in 2000 when he purchased the Palazzone property. In spite of his important professional commitments, he finds time to be present at the estate at significant moments of the “wine year”. He is at the vineyard to harvest in person and also to decide the wood ageing and blending for each vintage.

IL Palazzone, Rosso del Palazzone

Red Brunello Wine, Region: Montalcino, Italy

Tasting notes:

This wine tastes of bright late September mornings in Tuscany. It is pleasantly fresh on the palate. The body is elegant and structured with polished tannins and a persistent, mouth-watering finish.

Hamilton Russell Vineyards

South Africa

Hamilton Russell Vineyards – one of the most southerly wine estates in Africa and one of the closest to the sea – pioneered viticulture and winemaking in the beautiful, cool, maritime Hemel-en-Aarde Valley appellation, just behind the old fishing village of Hermanus.

The estate specialises in producing highly individual, terroir-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which are widely regarded as the best in South Africa and among the finest in the New World.

Ashbourne Sauvignon Blanc – Chardonnay

White Wine, Region: Hemel-en-Aarde,  South Africa

Wine Style & Tasting Notes:

Fresh, vibrant, perfumed Sauvignon Blanc, filled-out and enriched with a carefully judged, unoaked Chardonnay component, makes this a beautiful and well-balanced, highly versatile wine. More than two decades of family experience have gone into this unique blend.

A flinty mineral backbone supports crisp pear and lemon citrus, with fresh mint and stone fruit.
