Winemaker:

Domaine les Alexandrins – The Expression of the Rhône Valley Terroir. Made from old vines, our Crozes-Hermitage is a great classic, elegant and refined, vinified using methods that faithfully uphold local traditions. Its name comes from two place names: “Crozes”, from the Latin crucem, which means “cross” or “crossroads”, and “Hermitage”, from the Latin heremitagium, meaning “hermitage” in English. It refers to the hill rising above the Rhône, on the summit of which the knight Henri Gaspard de Stérimberg settled to live as a hermit on his return from the Albigensian Crusade.

Tasting Notes:

A captivating, deep black hue with a radiant sheen. The nose is powerful and intricate, unveiling concentrated black fruit and subtle smoky nuances indicative of the wine’s barrel aging. On the palate, an initial burst of fruit and freshness gives way to a rich complexity and the finesse of its robust tannins. This Syrah exemplifies superb expression and offers remarkable cellaring potential.

Food Pairings: Ideal with grilled red meat, spicy dishes, or richly flavoured stews.

Serving Suggestions: Serve between 15°C and 18°C. Currently, it brims with black fruit notes. For optimal enjoyment, consume within 5 years.
