Tasting notes: Dark ruby in colour with rich dark fruits. Medium body, dark fruits with ‘greens’, forest soil/earthy notes, resin, firm tannis, hints of tar and a long velvety finish.
Notes: The Lalande de Pomerol appellation, just north of Pomerol is located on the right bank of the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. Merlot is the predominant variety along with Cabernet Franc.
Chateau du Rosaire is a very well-regarded, 14-hectare property owned by Hubert de Bouard de Laforest, oenologist, consultant and the co-owner of Cháteau de Angélus. Hubert favours traditional vinification techniques using stainless steel temperature-controlled vats followed by 10 months in French oak barrels.
